NBA Season Projections

The Circle Voice Sports Section has created its own NBA projections for the 2015-2016 season. The following will cover the projected top finishers in each conference.

The Cleveland Cavaliers look poised to win the Eastern Conference. After a disappointing performance in last year’s NBA Finals, the Cavs are primed to bounce back. The Cavs’ lineup has not changed much and is still jampacked with all-stars. With LeBron James, arguably the best player in the NBA, leading the way along with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, the Cavs are the favorites in the East. As long as the key players for the Cavs remain healthy, they have a very good shot at winning the Finals this season.

In the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs will be a force to be reckoned with. The Spurs have won fifty games for sixteen consecutive seasons and will unquestionably do it again this season. This offseason, they added superstar power-forward LaMarcus Aldridge to a squad that already had championship level talent. Furthermore, they retained all their key pieces, and were able to acquire veteran David West, who brings a strong, team-first presence in both the locker room and on the court. With the deadly trio of the seemingly ageless Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili, San Antonio will register its 18th straight playoff appearance under head-coach Greg Popovich, and likely go all the way.
