Groton Welcomes New Assistant Athletic Trainer
Being an athlete is not easy, and neither is treating the inevitable injuries. Regardless of the many different types of maladies, there is one person who is invariably involved in the speedy recovery of our athletes: the assistant athletic trainer.
Our previous assistant athletic trainer, Christine Alarcon, will sadly not be returning this fall. With her departure, Jacquelyn Nolan will step into her place.
Ms. Nolan has recently graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts where she majored in athletic training. In her four year span at Merrimack College, she worked with Merrimack Women’s Soccer, Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Basketball and Football teams as part of her degree. In addition, she has spent a semester at Brooks School as an Athletic Training intern. She also served as an orientation leader, a tour guide, and a Special Olympics of Massachusetts volunteer while at Merrimack.
Due to her experience, Arthur Cheeks, the current Athletic Trainer, is confident that “she will assist in providing quality care for our athletes.”
The community is very excited to welcome Jacquelyn Nolan to the Circle; likewise, she is “excited to begin this new chapter at Groton and meet all of the students, staff and faculty members.”
“Groton seems to have a really great community feeling and I am thrilled to be joining this community. I enjoy helping others and specifically returning athletes to the playing field in a safe and healthy way,” she said.
